Beatrix Mecsi is an art historian with a specialization in East Asian Art. She has studied European Art History, Japanese and Korean Studies in Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest. After finishing her MA degrees (Art History 1998 and Japanese Studies 1999), she went to England and obtained her PhD degree at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in the Department of Art and Archaeology. Her research interests include religious iconography in East Asia, text-image relationships, art theory and contemporary art. She won the Pro Scientia golden medal bestowed by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for outstanding research in 1999, and other prizes with her essays in art history. She taught at the University of London (SOAS) and also taught MA classes at the Sotheby’s Institute in London, as well as delivering the “Comparative East Asian Art” course at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea between 2006 and 2008. She completed her habilitation in 2009 in the field of East Asian art history. Currently she is the head of the Korean Studies Department, Institute of East Asian Studies, at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest.

Aliz Horvath recently completed her PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago. She also holds a dual MA degree in Japanese and Chinese philology and an additional BA in Korean and Finnish language and has spent multiple years in these four areas as a scholarship holder. She is interested in the mechanisms of transnational flows in Japan, China, and Korea, as well as the dynamics of intellectual history, cultural history, and history writing. She enjoys experimenting with interdisciplinary solutions and novel methods, such as digital tools, to explore innovative approaches to the study of East Asia. She is particularly enthusiastic about data visualizations and actively advocates for diversity and inclusion in digital humanities through the promotion of non-Western perspectives. She teaches across the Japanese, Chinese, and Korean programs at all levels from introductory East Asian history courses to more specialized graduate modules on transnational Asia and digital humanities.

Kovács Ramóna

2013-ban végzett az ELTE-n keleti nyelvek és kultúrák japán szakirányon, majd 2015-ben koreanisztika szakon szerzett MA-s diplomát. Tanulmányait a Koreai Foundation ösztöndíjasaként a szöuli Sogang Egyetem Koreai Nyelvi Intézetében folytatta. 2017-ben óraadóként tevékenykedett az ELTE BTK Koreai Tanszékén, 2018-tól tanársegéd és tanszéki adminisztrátor. Jelenleg az ELTE BTK Nyelvtudományi Doktori Iskola Mongolisztika programjának doktorandusza. 2016 őszétől vezeti a győri Révai Miklós Gimnázium koreai nyelv és kultúra szakkörét.
Koreai nyelvi szemináriumai mellett a koreai kultúrával kapcsolatban tart órákat. Jelenleg oktatott tantárgyai közé tartozik a klasszikus koreai nyelv és írásbeliség, hagyományos koreai műveltség, modern koreai kultúra.

Jelenleg az ELTE BTK Nyelvtudományi Doktori Iskola Fordítástudományi Doktori Programjának doktorandusza. Kutatási területe a koreai nyelv és fordítása. 2017-től a Koreai Tanszék óraadója. A koreai BA képzésben modern koreai nyelvet és koreai történelmet tanít.

2012-ben végzett az ELTE Távol-keleti kultúrák alapszak, Japán szakirányán, majd 2015-ben japanológia, 2016-ban pedig koreanisztika szakon szerzett MA diplomát. 2016 nyarán a Koreai Dankook University nyári egyetemi programjában vett részt. 2016-tól a Koreai Tanszék megbízott oktatója. 2012 óta vezeti a Kőbányai Szent László Gimnázium japán nyelvi és kulturális szakkörét.
A koreai BA képzésben modern koreai nyelv mellett klasszikus koreai írást és koreai irodalmat tanít.

Kim Jong Nyeu Korean history and language lecturer

Kim Jong Nyeu studied Korean histoy at Catholic University of Korea from 1983 to 1987. After finishing the Bachelor's degree she became a history teacher in Jinyoung high school in South Korea and taught History and Social Studies to the students. From 1995 to 1998, she studied at the Department of History, MA Degree course in Yonsei Graduate School. She studied Western European history with a specialization of German History. These days, she is interested in Korean contempory history, especially in culture and society of Korean contempory history. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Department of Korean Studies in ELTE and teaches Korean Ancient, Midieval and Contempory history to the students.
